The United States and ECOW AS continue to strengthen our trade partnersh i p, including the signing of a Trade and lnvestment Framework Agreement (TIFA) with ECOWAS (2014) as weil as the expanded trade opportunities provided by the reauthorization of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). ECOWAS has also been selected as a partner under the expanded Trade Africa initiative announced by President Obama in July 2015. ln the spirit of expanding trade-related cooperation, USAJD will provide funding for a Senior Trade Advisor to directly support ECOWAS in providing leadership on trade faci litation and related trade initiatives (ETLS, ISRT, CET, and WTO TFA).
